Despite
his historical importance, his numerous exhibitions (in
New York at the MoMA and the Withney Museum, in London
at the Victoria & Albert Museum, etc.) and the recent
publishing of his book entitled Green Architecture, James
Wines' work is still to be discovered in France.
This monographic catalogue of the American architect,
made within the frame of the "Architecture in Context"
exhibition (Archilab 2002, Orléans, France), comprises
a substantial number of works and projects from 1968 to
nowadays, some of which have been implemented while others
have not. It also deals with the environment as a component
of architecture, including a series of environmental works
("Landsite Sculptures") carried out between 1960 and 11965.
